ABOUT NSE

The Nigerian Society of Engineers is the umbrella organization for the Engineering Profession in Nigeria. The Society looks after the professional needs of members through well-structured programmes and regular interactions among the different cadre of membership, enhancing high professional standard and ethical practices.

Founded on 16th February, 1958 by a group of young Nigerian graduate engineers and students in the UK, the Society was inaugurated at the Nigerian House in London. The NSE is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission as a company Limited by guarantee.

The objective of the Society is to promote the advancement of engineering education, research, and practice in all its ramifications. Naturally, this is with a view to maintaining and enhancing the professional capabilities of its members so as to better equip them to fulfil the needs of the profession for the good of the public and the nation of large.

ABOUT NSE ABUJA BRANCH

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) Abuja Branch is a brainchild of some early engineers in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in the early 80’s.  It became a branch of the Nigerian Society of Engineers in 1985, and since then, has flourished to its present enviable position as one of the strongest among the comity of Branches.

The Branch as a professional body has played a very significant role in the development of the Federal Capital Territory being the biggest construction site in Africa. Various lofty heights have been attained, and great ideas evolved. The history of the FCT cannot be complete without the contributions of the Branch as an entity and the numerous individual contributions of its members.
